Footprint Introductions
This is a project to introduce students to the class. I cut my shoe print out of construction paper and added items to describe myself. We had to use a minimum of three mediums and include our name. I added sheet music because singing and theatre are a big part of my life. I also included a paintbrush because I am an art major, an ice cream cone because that is my favorite food, and a cupcake because I like to bake. There are additional symbols that represent different interests and aspects of my life.
Extension Activity: This would be a great way for my students and I to get to know each other. After they complete their footprints, we would work together to make a class mural. For example, I would draw out a scene with the footprints going down a sidewalk. The mural could be displayed in the hallway or in the art room. The students would learn how to work together on a project and also that they are each important and accepted in their class.
